The term Best-Of-Breed comes from dog shows and is a title given to a dog or cat that is the best of its breed in the show. In the IT world this term is often used on software that is the the best of its class.
For me the term is used the for the best solution/software that solves my problem. It might not be the system with the most bells and whistles, but it fills its purpose. That is what this blog is about, to discuss and describe these little pieces of information that solves a particular problem.
